ONTARIO, CALIFORNIA (September 2015) – Broco® Rankin is pleased to announce new Multi-Process Welding Kits to accompany the Rankin Automation™ Multi-Process Two Axis Automated Welding Machine. These new kits provide multiple functions and processes from one base unit machine, adding versatility and expanding shop and job options. A tilting head positioner is now also available.
The new Multi-Process Welding Kits can be used for a variety of jobs, including welding, joining, cutting, hardfacing and fabrication. The new Multi-Process Welding Kits are:
- Submerged Arc Welding Kit
- Open Arc Welding Kit
- Oxy-Fuel Straight Line Cutting Kit
- MIG Carbide Application Kit
The Submerged Arc Kit includes a straight barrel welding torch, flux hopper with mounts, gate and hoses, tips, and wire feed roll kits. Submerged arc welding provides clean welds with no spatter and arc flash. The Open Arc Kit includes a straight barrel open arc torch and tips, with universal torch adjuster and wire feed roll kits available. This kit is designed for hardfacing processes without using shielding gas and flux cored wire.
The Oxy-Fuel Straight Line Cutting Kit includes an oxy-fuel cutting torch, torch holder and brackets, gas manifold block with two ports, hoses and tips. This kit is designed for general edge preparation. The MIG Carbide Application Kit includes a water cooled welding torch, water circulator and connecting lines and AC power, universal torch mount, wire feed roll kits, and the Rankin Automation™ Vibratory Carbide Feeder with drop tube, ideal for the bulk application of tungsten carbide.
Each kit is designed for easy installation/removal, and can be changed out for another kit in just minutes. Each kit also can be purchased separately, as a group, and with the Rankin Automation™ Two Axis Automated Welding Machine base unit.
The Rankin Automation™ Two Axis Automated Welding Machine is made of industrial grade steel with programmable X and Y axes, carriage, and a floor mounted control panel with touch screen. The legs are braced for rigidity and can be adjusted from four to eight feet beam height. The X axis beam averages eight and a half feet to twelve feet and up travel and can be made in custom lengths. The Y axis has a standard two feet travel.
